What a wall hung vanity actually needs
A wall hung unit needs two things: a wall that can carry the load, and a bracket that puts that load into the structure instead of into the tiles.
Bathroom walls in the UAE fall into three groups. Concrete is the easy case. Solid block is fine once we find the block behind the tile. A metal stud partition needs a spreader plate or new vertical studs fixed back into the slab or the adjoining structural wall, and that work happens before the tiles go back.
Weight matters more than most people expect. A 1,200 mm wall hung unit with a quartz top and two basins weighs 90 to 130 kg empty. Add water, towels and drawer contents and you are near 150 kg. We size the fixing for that figure. M10 chemical anchors go into concrete, resin anchors into solid block, and plastic plugs are never used, even on a 600 mm unit.
A quartz top is rigid, so the carcass behind it has to be flat. If the wall bows more than about 3 mm across 1,200 mm, we pack the rail and shim the carcass, never the top.

Carcass reinforcement where the bracket lands
18 mm moisture resistant plywood, doubled to 36 mm along the top rail line so the anchors bite into real material. The back panel is grooved in and sealed.
The concealed bracket
A powder coated steel rail is bolted to the wall first and the carcass drops onto it. Nothing shows once the drawers are closed. Adjustable cams let us level the unit within 10 mm, which matters because tiled walls are rarely plumb.
Drawer depth against the trap
A bottle trap hangs about 200 mm below the basin waste. Behind a 500 mm top we set the unit at 450 mm deep, hold the top drawer at 160 mm and cut the drawer box around the trap. Where the waste drops through the floor, the middle bay gets a fixed front panel instead.

Wall hung versus floor standing in a UAE apartment
Wall hung frees the floor and makes a small bathroom feel wider. Floor standing gives the toe kick void back as storage and suits walls that cannot take a bracket.

Waste and water pipe routing
The trap and the supplies sit inside the bracket zone, so pipe positions are settled on the drawing before anything is cut.
Supply points usually sit 550 to 650 mm above the finished floor, 100 to 150 mm apart and centred on the basin. The basin waste is 32 mm or 40 mm with a fall of about 20 mm per metre toward the stack. In most UAE buildings the stack runs in a shaft at the end of the wet room, so the trap arm travels 300 to 700 mm back from the basin. Working to DET and DEWA requirements means the trap keeps a proper water seal and every joint stays accessible. We never bury a compression fitting inside a tiled wall.
Where the waste comes up through the floor, a floating vanity leaves it on show. Two fixes: build a 100 mm duct panel behind the unit, or keep the carcass at 450 mm and run the bottle trap inside it behind a removable back panel. Both sit inside the same AED 6,000 to 8,000 band. - Factory build in Jebel Ali, cut and finished 1:1 to the approved drawing, about 14 days.
- Delivery and installation. One day for a single vanity, two for a double, including levelling, sealing, drain test and clean up.

Can my wall take a wall hung vanity?
Usually yes. Concrete and solid block take chemical or resin anchors directly. A plasterboard partition needs a spreader plate or new studs fixed back into the slab, which we check during the free measurement visit before you pay anything.
Do I lose storage with a wall hung vanity?
Not much. You lose the plinth void under a floor standing unit, but the drawers run the full height of the carcass at 450 to 500 mm deep. A double unit still holds towels, bottles and spares, and most clients value the clear floor more.
Can I have a stone top on a floating vanity?
Yes. A 20 mm quartz top in Super White, Black, Calacatta Miranda or Statuario Exclusive is standard. A 1,200 mm top weighs 25 to 40 kg, so the rail and carcass reinforcement are sized for the top you pick, and everything is built 1:1 to the approved drawing.
How long does it take from start to finish?
Around 14 days from the day you approve the drawing, plus one installation day for a single vanity or two for a double. The measurement visit and the drawing add roughly three days at the front.
