What a floating bathroom vanity is and why it suits Dubai bathrooms
A floating vanity hangs off the wall on concealed brackets with no legs and no plinth, so the floor tile runs under it unbroken. That matters here, where an apartment guest bathroom is often 2.5 to 4 sqm. Lifting the unit 200mm off the floor returns visible floor area and makes a narrow room feel wider, and there are no legs to mop around and no dark gap behind a plinth where dust collects. We build custom bathroom vanity units with a shallow service void at the back, so the bottle trap and angle valves stay reachable. That is the detail most off the shelf units get wrong in tight bathrooms.
Floating or floor standing: how we choose
Wall hung wins when the wall can take the load and you want the floor clear. Floor standing still wins when the wall behind the basin is a single skin partition, when you need maximum storage depth, or when a heavy double basin sits on a 150cm run. We check the wall first and tell you which one it supports.
Wall hung vanity carcass materials for UAE humidity
For a wall hung unit in the UAE we build the carcass in marine plywood or WPC board, and use MDF only where a design calls for a fully sealed painted panel. Humidity here stays high for most of the year, and a floating cabinet carries load as well as moisture. Plywood holds screws better than MDF, and that matters when the whole unit hangs on its fixings. HMR board is a step up from plain MDF, so we use it for internals and drawer boxes, never for the structural carcass. Every cut edge is sealed with ABS edge banding or a PU seal, especially the bottom edge facing the floor. Our bathroom vanity guides compare carcass options in more detail.

Wall fixing and anchoring in Dubai wall types
A wall hung vanity is only as strong as the wall behind it, so the wall type is part of every quote. Most bathrooms in Dubai are one of three builds. Blockwork, common in villas and older buildings, needs resin or chemical anchors that grip the block instead of crushing it. Reinforced concrete, common on shear walls in towers, will take a stone top and a double basin with no extra work. Metal stud with one or two layers of board, standard in newer apartment towers, needs timber or steel blocking fitted behind the board first.
A 100cm unit with a marble top, a basin and a drawer of towels can weigh 90kg to 120kg loaded. We fix into structure where it exists and add blocking where it does not. A wall mounted bathroom vanity should never hang on plastic plugs in a single layer of drywall. If your building asks for a fit out NOC, the approved drawing is usually the document they want to see.

Natural stone tops for a floating vanity
Marble is what most people picture when they search for a floating vanity with marble top Dubai, and quartz is what they choose when nobody wants to reseal stone every year. Both work on a wall hung unit if the slab is sized sensibly and the wall can carry it.
| Top | Look | Upkeep | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carrara or Crema Marfil marble | Veined, one off slab | Seal twice a year | Heaviest |
| Engineered quartz | Even colour, wide choice | No sealing | Lighter 20mm slabs |
| Porcelain slab | Printed stone | Wipe clean | Lightest |
Weight drives the design. A 20mm stone top adds roughly 25kg to 30kg per sqm, so on a 100cm single basin unit we keep the front overhang to around 50mm and the sides to about 75mm. A single 100cm marble top sits comfortably inside the AED 6,000 to AED 8,000 all in price. A book matched slab over 140cm takes you to the top of the range.

What a floating bathroom vanity costs in Dubai
A 100cm wall hung unit with a marine plywood carcass, one soft close drawer, a single marble top and an undermount basin comes to about AED 6,500 supplied and installed, which is our most common order. The range runs from AED 6,000 for a compact 60cm to 80cm unit up to AED 8,000.
What pushes a unit to AED 8,000
- A double basin with two cut outs and two waste connections.
- Quartz or a book matched marble slab instead of a single stone top.
- A top longer than 140cm, which needs a heavier carcass.
- Wall reinforcement or new blocking where the wall is metal stud.
- Extra drawers, internal lighting or a matching mirror unit.
Sizes and awkward niches
Standard sizes are 60cm, 80cm, 100cm and 120cm. A 60cm unit suits one 45cm basin, 100cm suits one wide basin or two narrow ones, and 120cm takes a double comfortably. Where a pipe box, a return wall or a niche eats into the run, made to measure is the whole point. We build to the millimetre so the unit meets the tile line without filler strips. Send your measurements and you can get a free vanity quote with the all in figure before anything is cut.
What the all in price covers
- Design and a dimensioned drawing for approval.
- Carcass manufacture and edge sealing in Jebel Ali.
- Stone top cut for your exact basin, tap and waste positions.
- Concealed brackets and fixings matched to your wall type.
- Installation, silicone sealing and removal of packaging waste.
How we build your unit
- Survey. We check the wall type, the waste position and the tap holes, then measure for the drawing.
- Approval. Nothing is cut until you confirm the drawing, including the top edge profile and finish.
- Factory build. Carcass cut, edged and sealed in Jebel Ali, usually inside 14 days of approval.
- Stone work. Top cut, basin and tap holes set out, edges polished.
- Installation. Unit anchored, top fitted, basin connected, site cleaned and waste removed.
You can see our installed vanity projects for a feel for the finishes we build. Building stock differs across the Emirates. Tower apartments lean towards metal stud partitions, while older villa areas are more often blockwork, so the fixing detail follows the wall. We hold the timeline because we control the factory.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a floating bathroom vanity cost in Dubai?
A 100cm wall hung unit with a marine plywood carcass, one soft close drawer, a marble top and an undermount basin is about AED 6,500 installed. Expect AED 6,000 to AED 8,000 all in, depending on size, top material and whether the wall needs reinforcement. That price includes design, manufacture, stone, installation and waste removal.
Can a wall hung vanity hold a marble top?
Yes, if the wall can take it and the slab is sized properly. A 100cm unit with a marble top and a basin can weigh 90kg to 120kg loaded, so we fix into blockwork with resin anchors or into concrete, and add blocking on stud walls. Overhangs are kept short so the stone is never unsupported.
What carcass material is best for a wall hung vanity in UAE humidity?
Marine plywood or WPC board. Both handle humidity far better than standard MDF and hold screws well enough to carry a hanging cabinet. HMR board is fine for shelves and drawer boxes, but not for the carcass that carries the load.
How long does a made to measure floating vanity take?
Around 14 days from the day you approve the drawing, including carcass build and stone cutting. Installation is usually half a day on site. Special order slabs or extra wall blocking can add a few days.
Can you fit a floating vanity into a small or awkward bathroom?
Yes. Made to measure exists for exactly this. We build to the millimetre so the unit sits between a side wall and a pipe box, or inside a niche, with no filler strips. Standard 60cm, 80cm and 100cm sizes cover most rooms, but a niche almost always needs a custom carcass.
Do you install outside Dubai?
Yes. We manufacture in Jebel Ali, Dubai and install across all of the UAE. Drawings, materials and fixings stay the same whether the unit goes into a Dubai apartment or a villa elsewhere in the Emirates. Only the wall type and the travel day change, and both are quoted up front.
