Why Sharjah homes need a made to measure vanity
Standard 60cm, 80cm and 120cm vanity boxes are built for European bathrooms, not for the rooms people actually have in Sharjah. A made to measure unit closes the gaps an off the shelf box leaves behind.
Three things break standard sizes in this emirate:
- Pipe runs and soil stacks. In older Al Majaz and Al Khan apartment blocks the drainage rises mid wall, so the waste has to be routed inside the cabinet and the basin offset to one side.
- Awkward wall runs. Muwaileh villa bathrooms often give you a 137cm alcove between a door frame and a shower screen. A 120cm box leaves a 17cm dead gap that holds water and never looks finished.
- Sloped ceilings and low sills. Several Sharjah Waterfront and newer Muwaileh layouts have a sloping ceiling over the vanity run or a window sill at 900mm, which limits mirror height and splashback depth.
A bespoke unit fills the alcove exactly, hides the pipe boxing behind a removable access panel and keeps the basin centred on the mirror. In practice that is the whole point of a custom vanity unit in the UAE. The cabinet is designed around the room, not the other way round.

Materials that survive UAE humidity
Marine ply or solid wood carcass beats MDF every time in a UAE bathroom, and the difference shows within two summers.
- Carcass. We use marine ply or solid wood with a moisture resistant finish. Standard MDF swells at the bottom rail when a shower steams the room daily, especially in coastal Al Khan where humidity sits higher all year.
- Edges. Every cut edge is banded and sealed. Unsealed edges are where water enters and where a cabinet fails first.
- Hardware. Stainless steel 304 or solid brass hinges and runners. Cheaper plated hardware pits in coastal air.
- Stone. Honed natural stone for busy family bathrooms, polished only if you accept water spotting and regular sealing.

How the 14 day build works
Fourteen days is factory time from an approved drawing, not from the first phone call.
- Free site survey and measurement. We visit, check the wall, the pipe run and the levels, and confirm what will fit.
- Drawing approval. You receive a 1:1 drawing with sizes, door style, stone and hardware. Nothing is cut until you approve it.
- Factory build. Carcass, doors and stone are produced and assembled in Jebel Ali, normally inside 14 days.
- Installation. Our team fits the unit, connects the waste and trap, seals the top and clears the waste away.
On approvals, a like for like vanity replacement in a Sharjah villa usually does not need Sharjah Municipality or baladiya sign off. If plumbing or walls move, it may. Apartment towers in Al Majaz almost always need a building management NOC before any work starts, and some ask for a refundable deposit.
