Small bathroom vanity Dubai: built to the millimetre

If nothing on the showroom floor fits your bathroom, the fix is not a smaller cabinet. It is a unit drawn to your own wall, made to that drawing and checked at full size before installation. We build them in our factory in Jebel Ali and fit them across the UAE, usually in about 14 days.

Measure the clear gap, not the wall

Wall-to-wall width is the first number people take and the last one that matters on its own. What you can use is the clear gap: width minus the door swing, minus the towel rail on the back of the door, minus the skirting that stops a carcass sitting flush.

Then look at the plumbing. Where do the hot and cold stub-outs come out, and where is the waste? In a lot of UAE apartment bathrooms they sit off centre, sometimes high, sometimes not level with each other. A retail unit with a pre-cut back panel will not close over that without a filler panel, a gap down one side, or a trap you see every morning.

A typical second bathroom in a Dubai apartment gives you a slot, often around 90cm to the door frame. Retail sizes land at 60cm and 80cm, so an 80cm cabinet leaves a 10cm strip that collects dust and never looks built in. On a genuinely narrow wall the waste is worse, because the door swing eats part of what you measured.

Depth and basin projection decide whether the room works

Width gets the unit in. Depth decides whether you can move once it is there. A standard carcass at 50 to 55cm deep, plus a basin projecting forward, puts the front edge 60cm or more off the wall. In a room where you also stand at the shower door, that is the difference between fine and irritating.

Two levers fix it: a shallower carcass, a short-projection basin, or both. An offset waste helps, because the trap no longer has to sit dead centre behind the drawers. On a compact vanity for a Dubai apartment the usual result is a carcass around 40 to 45cm deep with the top overhanging slightly, which keeps the walkway clear while the drawer still takes a full bottle.

Wall-hung or floor-standing in a tight bathroom

This is the choice that changes how the room feels, and it is much harder to change later than people expect.

Wall-hung has to hang off something solid. Blockwork is straightforward. A stud or drywall partition is not, and needs a frame or timber pattress built in before tiling. Decide after the tiling and that choice costs money. Floor-standing costs floor and legroom but gives storage you cannot get any other way in a 90cm run.

The drawing is the product

Every vanity we make is built 1:1 to the drawing the customer approves first. Nothing reaches the factory floor before you have seen the shape and signed it off.

The drawing carries carcass width, depth and height, the drawer and door split, basin centre, tap position, waste cut-out and top overhang. If you can survey, we work from your numbers. If the gaps are awkward or the plumbing sits somewhere strange, we measure on site first. This is the step where a 90cm gap stops being a compromise and becomes a cabinet that ends exactly where the wall does.

From approval to installation, and what a fair quote itemises

Fabrication and delivery run to about 14 days from the approved drawing. Each unit is assembled and checked at full size in Jebel Ali before it leaves, which matters more when installation is elsewhere in the UAE, because everything is finished before it travels. You can read how we install a custom vanity in 14 days or look through our finished vanity installations first.

A fair quote itemises the carcass material and finish, the stone top with its edge and cut-outs, drilling for basin and tap, delivery, and installation. One lump sum hides all of it. Our all-in range is AED 6,000 to 8,000. Where you land inside it depends on the carcass material, the size and shape of the top, and how much the plumbing position forces in the build. The expensive mistakes are ordering the basin before the depth is agreed, tiling before choosing wall-hung, and moving the waste after the top has been cut.

To price your own bathroom, send photos of the wall from both ends, the clear width at three heights, the depth from the back wall to whatever blocks the front, the height of the waste and stub-outs off the floor, and the emirate it is going to. WhatsApp those to +971 54 483 3966 and you will get a drawing back to check. You can also request a quote for a made-to-measure vanity through the site.

Frequently asked questions

Can a made-to-measure vanity fit a 90cm bathroom?

Yes. A 90cm clear gap takes a carcass that ends at the wall on both sides, once the door swing and skirting are measured. Retail 80cm units leave a strip of dead floor, while a narrower custom carcass with a short-projection basin keeps the walkway usable. The drawing is approved before anything is cut.

Do I need to move the plumbing for a narrow vanity?

Usually not. The back of the carcass is cut to the stub-outs and the waste, and an offset basin or a shaped internal drawer clears a trap that sits off centre. If the waste does have to move, that is decided before the drawing is signed, not after the top has been cut.

How long does a made-to-measure small vanity take in the UAE?

About 14 days from the approved drawing for fabrication and delivery, then installation. Units are built and checked at full size in Jebel Ali and installed across the UAE, so a job outside Dubai is finished before it travels.

What does a made-to-measure bathroom vanity cost in the UAE?

Our made-to-measure units run AED 6,000 to 8,000 all-in. The carcass material and size, the stone top and its edge, and what the plumbing position forces in the build are what move the number. A fair quote itemises each of those plus delivery and installation.
