Why Abu Dhabi villas and apartments need a made-to-measure vanity
Off-the-shelf vanities come in 600, 800 and 1,000 mm widths, and Abu Dhabi bathrooms rarely measure to those numbers. An alcove in a Khalifa City villa or a Yas apartment often runs to 1,150 mm or 1,320 mm, so a 1,000 mm unit leaves filler gaps on both sides and a sink that sits off centre under the mirror.
What we find on site:
- A structural column or pipe boxing on one side, which turns the usable width into an odd number
- The waste pipe set where the developer left it, not where the mirror is
- Walls that cannot carry a wall-hung unit without extra support
- Finished floor levels that push a standard 850 mm vanity to 870 mm once tiles and skirting are in

How a site measure works when the workshop is in Dubai
Both routes start with the same information. You either send photos and a rough sketch, or book a visit and we measure on site across Abu Dhabi.
The photo and measure route:
- Photograph the wall straight on, from the doorway, and from floor to counter level
- Show the waste pipe, water supply, socket positions and the door swing
- Measure width at three points, top, middle and floor, then depth and skirting height
- Note anything fixed in the way, such as a towel radiator, mirror cabinet or shower screen
An on-site visit takes about 45 minutes and includes a laser measure of the alcove, pipe centres and finished floor level. If you cannot be there, we work from photos and confirm everything on a site drawing before cutting. Within three days you get a 1:1 drawing with carcass size, top size, drawer layout, sink positions and edge profile. Nothing is cut until you approve it on WhatsApp or email.
Carcass and top options for UAE humidity
Air conditioning in July and open windows in January are hard on bathroom joinery. The carcass has to survive daily showers and the occasional slow leak under a sink.

For most Abu Dhabi villas we build marine ply with a solid wood face frame, or solid wood throughout when the vanity is a design feature. Bare MDF core only works where the unit sits well away from the shower.
Stone top options
- Honed quartz is our default. Non-porous, resists toothpaste and hair dye, and 20 mm or 30 mm quartz handles undermount sinks with no stress
- Marble gives you movement and depth. We seal it twice and advise honed over polished, because polished marble shows every water mark
- Edge profiles run from pencil round to mitred 45 mm build-ups and waterfall end panels
- Sink cut-outs can be single undermount, double undermount or vessel, depending on whether you want counter space or easy cleaning

What a custom vanity costs in Abu Dhabi
A single custom vanity lands between AED 6,000 and AED 8,000 all in. That covers design, the 1:1 drawing, carcass, stone top, hardware, delivery to Abu Dhabi and installation.
Worked example, Al Reem Island:
- Size: 1,200 mm wall-hung double sink vanity
- Carcass: solid wood with moisture-sealed edges
- Top: 20 mm honed quartz with two undermount cut-outs
- Drawers: soft-close, two deep drawers plus a centre panel under the sinks
- Price: AED 7,200 all in, delivered to Al Reem and installed
Cost moves in three places. A natural stone top costs more than quartz, and a full marble slab can push a unit past AED 8,000 depending on the block. Units from 1,500 mm upward add for extra carcass, a second slab join and sometimes a service-lift slot. Angled or corner shapes add workshop time. Build, installation and access in Abu Dhabi
Fourteen days from measure to installed unit is normal, and the clock starts when you approve the drawing.
Build and installation timeline
- Day 0. Site measure in Abu Dhabi, or photo and measurement pack reviewed.
- Day 3. 1:1 drawing sent for approval, showing carcass size, top, sink positions and drawer layout.
- Day 4 to 12. Workshop build in Dubai. Cutting, edging, stone work, finishing and assembly.
- Day 14. Delivery and installation in Abu Dhabi, silicone to wall, sink and waste connections, full water test.

Approvals and access before delivery day
- NOC or work permit from building management in towers on Al Reem, Al Raha or Yas, sometimes with a contractor pass and a copy of the trade licence
- Service lift booking, usually a two-hour slot, plus lift padding for the stone slab and carcass panels
- Community or villa NOC where required before any drilling or plumbing work
- Parking or loading bay permission for the delivery van
For villas the owner usually signs off directly, and we still ask for written confirmation before cutting a wall or disconnecting water. Slabs over 1,800 mm travel in a ply crate, so the lift slot is booked before the unit leaves the workshop.

Yes. If you already have a marble top you want to keep, we template it and build the new carcass to fit, including the existing sink cut-outs and edge profile. We can also match a new top to stone already used elsewhere in the bathroom. Send a photo and the slab thickness when you book the measure.
Do you serve Saadiyat, Yas and Khalifa City?
Yes, we work across Abu Dhabi island and the mainland, including Saadiyat, Yas, Khalifa City, Al Reem and Al Raha. Villa work usually needs an owner sign-off, and tower apartments need a building work permit plus a lift booking. Both are sorted before the delivery day.
