Is a double sink vanity right for your bathroom?
Two basins need a clear wall run of at least 1200 mm, and 1500 mm if you want elbow room between users.
Measure the wall between finished surfaces, not from tile edges, because a 1250 mm opening can shrink to 1180 mm once the shower frame and skirting are in. Check these clearances before you commit to a design.
- 1200 mm wall run. Workable for two basins in a compact UAE apartment bathroom.
- 1500 mm wall run. Comfortable, with a slim centre drawer stack between the basins.
- 700 mm to 800 mm of clear floor in front of the unit, so drawers open and you can reach the mirror.
- 900 mm of clear floor if the bathroom door opens inwards towards the vanity.
- 100 mm to 150 mm between the vanity edge and a shower enclosure, so the glass and frame stay cleanable.

Double vanity sizes for UAE bathrooms
A 1200 mm unit is the working minimum for two basins, 1500 mm is the comfortable size, and 1800 mm and above gives his and hers sides with a drawer stack each.
Basin centres are the number that matters. Two people using the vanity at the same time need roughly 750 mm between centres to stand without knocking elbows, and that is what a 1500 mm top delivers once the centre drawer stack is allowed for.

Counter depth matters just as much as width. A single vanity can work at 450 mm deep, but a double wants 500 mm to 550 mm so two people can lean in without crowding. Tell us your wall run when you book a free site survey and quote and we will say straight away whether a double fits or not.
Wall hung or floor standing, plus the plumbing and lighting decisions
Wall hung frees the floor and is easier to mop, while floor standing carries more weight and hides pipework and service points.
Concealed waste and cabinet depth
A wall hung double needs a concealed waste and a properly fixed rail, usually a steel or timber rail bolted into the wall. In many UAE apartment bathrooms the wall behind the vanity is blockwork with a service shaft nearby, so the fixings have to be planned, not guessed. Floor standing units take a bottle trap inside the cabinet, which is simpler and leaves the wall cleaner.
Water heater access
Small electric water heaters and service valves often sit in the base unit or in a panel behind the vanity in Dubai apartment bathrooms. Keep an access panel, or have us build a removable back so the heater can be serviced without dismantling the unit. Relocating a heater is possible, but it changes the price and the timeline, so raise it at the survey.
Basin centres, mirror width and shaver sockets
Line the mirror up with the basins, not with the wall. Two backlit oval mirrors sit over each basin, or one wide mirror spans the full unit with 100 mm to 200 mm extra at each end. A shaver socket goes about 300 mm above the counter and to the side of a basin rather than directly over it, and mirror lighting should have its own switch so the room light and the mirror light are not fighting each other.

Carcass, tops and edges that survive UAE humidity
Marine ply with WBP glue for the carcass and a quartz top is the combination that lasts in a UAE bathroom, because humidity and daily shower steam are what destroy ordinary cabinet board.
Standard MDF and particleboard swell at cut edges, and the swelling usually starts around the basin cutout and the drawer bottoms. We build the carcass in marine ply with water and boil proof glue, seal every cut edge, and fit corrosion resistant soft close runners and hinges. Silicone is neutral cure, never acid cure, because acid cure silicone can stain a stone top and breaks down faster in a wet room.
For the top, quartz is non-porous, resists soap, shampoo and hard water marks, and does not need sealing. Finishes we supply include Super White, Black, Calacatta Miranda and Statuario Exclusive. The edge is usually a straight 20 mm, with a mitred 40 mm look if you want the top to feel heavier. Against stone cladding, fit a 100 mm upstand scribed tight to the wall and sealed along its top edge, or scribe the top itself to the cladding when the wall is uneven.

The 14 day build, from survey to installation
The clock starts the day you approve the drawing, and most double units are installed about 14 days later.
- Free site survey and laser measure. We check the wall run, floor level, waste and water positions, socket locations, door swing and water heater access.
- Approval drawing. You receive a 1:1 drawing showing widths, basin centres, drawer layout, top edge and upstand before anything is ordered.
- Your approval. Nothing is cut in the factory until you approve that drawing, and any change after that is quoted before we build.
- Factory build in Jebel Ali. Carcass, drawers, top and finishes are made in our own workshop, which is why the size on the drawing is the size you get.
- Delivery and installation. We install across the UAE, including Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. A double unit is usually a one day install.
- Seal, test and handover. Waste connections are water tested, the top is sealed to the wall, and drawers and hinges are adjusted on site.

Is wall hung or floor standing better for a double vanity?
Wall hung is easier to clean and makes a small bathroom feel bigger, and it suits a double unit fixed to a solid wall. Floor standing carries more weight, hides pipework and access panels, and is usually the better choice when a water heater or service point sits behind the unit. Both types are built 1:1 to your approved drawing.
Do I have to remove my existing tiles to install a double vanity?
No. In most cases we work to the existing finished wall and floor, and the unit is scribed and sealed to the tiles you already have. Tiles only come off if the waste position has to move or the wall is not flat enough to fix the unit safely. We tell you straight after the survey, before any deposit is taken.
How long does a made to measure double vanity take?
About 14 days from the day you approve the drawing to installation day, with the site survey usually booked within a few days of your first call. Larger units with stone tops and LED mirrors can take slightly longer, and we confirm the date in writing. Installation itself takes about one day for a double unit.
